´L´Ancienne Ecole´ is a stylish renovated school house in Bize Minervois.
Located in the unspoiled Languedoc region of France, medieval Bize Minervois is undisputedly the prettiest riverside village in this wine growing area. ´L´Ancienne Ecole´ is in the heart of the village, just 2 minutes walk to swim in the clear river, which is set up as a beach in the summer months, complete with lifeguard (water quality is tested on a daily basis).
The house was stylishly renovated to provide the ideal setting for a relaxing break. Spacious and light, it answers all modern needs, whilst retaining the original charm of a large village house, which was the original school.
´L´Ancienne Ecole´ has 6 bedrooms over 2 floors.

Bize Minervois is friendly, very safe and is ideal for all ages. Your children will never have experienced such freedom! You can find everything on foot - café/bar, 3 good restaurants, wine shop, 2 small supermarkets, butcher, 2 excellent boulangeries, 2 hairdressers, dentist, medical centre, 2 garages, post office, newsagents, beautician and church - even a cinema. Bize also has local tennis courts, a boulodrome and horse riding.
We can arrange other activities for you such as art or language classes and pre-book beauty treatments for you. It´s a friendly village, which often has fetes, the main ones being the Carnival in the spring and the Fete des Olives in July.
There´s lots to do in the area, from visiting Amphoralis, the Roman museum; Oulibo, where the best olive oil in France is made from Bize `lucques´; taking a boat trip or bike ride along the Canal du Midi, horseriding or exploring the numerous medieval castles, abbeys and villages from the Cathar era (eg Carcassonne Cite, Minerve, Queribus and Peyrepertuse castles).
Bize is just 20 minutes from the cathedral city of Narbonne, well worth a visit for the culture, shopping and restaurants! And the Mediterranean coast is only 40 minutes drive away, with long sandy beaches and watersports. There´s a safari park close by, waterparks, swimming pools, and adventure playgrounds and canoing down the river.
If you enjoy exploring, why not visit the famous Millau bridge, the Pyrenees or even Spain, just two hours away.
Don´t forget that Bize is surrounded by vines too, so plenty of opportunities for walks and wine tasting - though Marie around the corner from the house has a well stocked wine cellar at vineyard prices.
Rates are based on occupancy of 6 people, 60 Euro per week per extra person will be charged.
