Domaine Les Blaches
This traditional, tastefully renovated farm lies on the edge of the extensive Ardèche Natural Park.
Two ´gîtes´ are at your disposal here: La Blache en La Châtaigne .
Domaine Les Blaches is an absolutely quiet and peaceful spot, on a distance of about 3 km of the medieval village Désaignes. This village has some 1100 inhabitants and lies between Lamastre and St. Agrève. Valence is abt. 50 km away.
Surroundings
During the summer months the small village Désaignes offers the possibility of free swimming to their inhabitants and the guests, in a bathing pool in the river Doux (with supervision). Not far from the village there is a riding-school.
There are numerous possibilities for walking; you will find road-maps in the house.
And of course you can make wonderful tours by car, e.g. to the Mont Mezenc (1745 m) and the Gerbier de Jonc, with their beautiful flower fields. Through the valley of the Doux, between Lamastre and Tournon, on a rail-line maintained by volunteers runs an old steam train several times a day. The scenery of this tour consists of rough nature, small tunnels, bridges over the river and steep mountain sides.
Towns nearby are Valence, Le Puy and St. Etienne, approximately 1 - 2 hours driving through an ever changing landscape. There is a small supermarket in Désaignes. In Lamastre you will find 2 big supermarkets and on Tuesday mornings there is a market. You can also hire a bike here. In the house a lot of information and brochures are at your disposal and of course your host Simon will be happy to answer to all your questions.
La Châtaigne
This cottage (abt. 70 m²) has its
own entrance at the back of the house and a large, private
terrace with beautiful hillside view.
Ground level: entrance, bedroom (twin beds 80 x 200),
bathroom with shower and WC, washing machine.
First level: lounge (with TV, DVD- and CD player), dinner corner, fitted kitchen
(4-ring hob, micro-wave, fridge). On the so-called ´entre-sol´,
a kind of attic, is a second bedroom (with twin beds 100 x 200).
Also from the living room window you can enjoy the lovely views.
The owner created a cosy and sunny atmosphere by harmonizing the exposed stone walls with wood and bright colours.
On the large sun terrace that offers privacy and a magnificent view, you can enjoy the peacefulness of this lovely spot.
