Lagrasse
Surrounded by its old walls this mediaeval village lies in perfect harmony with the beautiful countryside. The Abbey dates back from the time of Charlemagne and you can follow its history from the architecture (8th to 18th century). There is a lot more about Lagrasse: you can take exciting walks through the many narrow streets with their art and craft galleries and ancient houses, the splendid covered market and over the 12th century humped back bridge, where you can see people swimming or fishing in the river Orbieu. You can relax in front of one of the cafés or take a walk in the hills surrounding Lagrasse and admire this magnificent region.
Maison Maisy
A tastefully decorated house with all modern conveniences and comforts. It consists of a large living-/dining room with a kitchen, from where you can go out to the courtyard. The stairs outside lead to the large terrace where you can enjoy the long summer evenings.
On the first floor there is a big double bedroom with a decorative fireplace, one smaller bedroom with a 3/4 bed and the bathroom. On the second floor you will find the third bedroom with one double and one single bed. This house is not suitable for small children. No pets and no smoking please.
Surroundings:
Lagrasse is close to the medieval City of Carcassonne (and so also close to the Ryanair-Airport ´Salvaza´ with connections to e.g. London, Dublin, Brussels), and close to interesting historic sites like the Cathar castles (Peyrepertuse, Quéribus, Montségur, Lastours etc.), Narbonne (Roman heritage like the Via Domitia), Rennes-le-Château, Minerve etc. Also close to Mediterranean beaches, to the golf course in Carcassonne, to interesting swimming spots in the river Orbieu (Ribaute), to numerous walking tracks (to recommend: Sculpture Path of Mayronnes), to the Canal du Midi (boat tours) and even to Spain (e.g. Dali museum in Figueiras is just an hour drive away, Barcelona 3 hours).
