Domaine La Flotte, an estate situated on the ´Col de La Flotte´ where you have a beautiful view of the Pyrenees, is an oasis of quiet, wooded hills and meadows – the definition of rural tranquility.
You can make magnificent walks here and enjoy the unspoilt nature or explore the surroundings on a mountain-bike. You can hire one of the horses and go for a ride in the hillside, with guide Manuel.
You can make use of the (shared) swimming pool (round, 6 m) or go to the nearby Lake Montbel or Lac de Puivert, where you can surf, sail or hire a pedalo.
In Chalabre, only a 10 minutes drive away, you will find shops, a supermarket, a bank and restaurants.
There is a market every Monday morning in Mirepoix (25 minutes driving).
From the ruins of an old farm 5 separate self-contained apartments have arisen.
Each house has its own terrace, so your privacy is guaranteed. The only thing they share is the pool and the lovely view to the Pyrenees.
The apartments can be rented individually or in combination for groups. The main apartment has a spacious reception and dining area that is ideal for large parties.
The perfect location if you want to organise for example: a family reunion or an active holiday with friends, a training break, a workshop or team building activities, a conference, cultural excursions, wine tasting tours – this is the ideal group accommodation (up to 24 people).
Self-catering or full catering (available as optional extra at separate cost upon request).
Domaine La Flotte is close to the village of Chalabre with all amenities and close to all interesting sites of the region Languedoc / Aude like Mirepoix, Carcassonne (Cité), Narbonne (Roman history – Via domitia), Cathar castles as Peyrepertuse and Quéribus.
You can make excellent walks all around but be prepared for some steep slopes. For entertainment those with energy will enjoy excellent river activities: canoeing, rafting and kayaking and river swimming. or a climb up the Pech de Bugarach. The Lac de Montabel with man-made beaches is 30 mins distant. Carcassonne is half an hour away. Cathar castles are all within reach. The spectacular Bastide town of Mirepoix is 20 minutes drive. There are many beaches within 75 minutes drive.
Banks, shops, bakery and good restaurants within 10 mins at Chalabre, or 20 mins at Mirepoix. A museum of pre-history and the cave-paintings of Niaulx are close by. So too are many outdoor sports facilities – and there are ski-stations in less than an hours drive. Andorra and Spain are reachable in less then two hours, although exploring the French Pyrenees on the doorstep would probably satisfy the most ardent motorist.
Local markets with regional produce, wines and dried sausage, apple producers, and cheeses, so much to see and taste. Wine tasting at Limoux, famous for its ‘Blanquette de Limoux’. Many fine restaurants selling specialities of the south west, or even pizzerias.

- Motorway: A61 coming from Narbonne or Toulouse, exit no. 23 Carcassonne. From there it is about 40 minutes driving.

Minimum length of stay : 4 nights
Rates depending on season, numbre of people, length of stay, how many people per room etc. Breakfast, lunch and/or dinner can be served (ask for quotes). We can also take care of transport (airports, sight seeing etc.)
